Handscraped, Wirebrushed and Distressed: What’s the Difference?

Okay, so 3 of the tendencies we're about to discuss are similar and often confused together. Each textured wood option comes with its very own unique style and personality. No 2 textured wood planks must be precisely the same and each of those 3 choices has a distinguishing quality. Handscraped timber contains long, ingrained scrapes in the finish with high variation between planks, making every individual plank appear handmade, unique and rare. Wirebrushed timber reveals subtle, dull wire scratches that leave the core of the wood exposed to the surface. These imperfections are smoother and more consistent compared to handscraped or distressed wood. Distressed wood is often confused for handscraped wood. Distressed wood, however, looks as though it has been through a great deal of wear and tear. You may expect to see scrapes, burns, knots, wormholes and more, giving it an aged, vintage appearance .
